A Beach for Every Season

Autumn and winter months reveal a more peaceful side of the bay, perfect for coastal walks and enjoying the fresh sea air. For dog owners, Langland Bay is one of the most welcoming beaches on Gower from October to May. Dogs are allowed on the beach, making it a popular destination for locals and visitors looking to enjoy a seaside walk with their four-legged companions. After a walk on the beach, dog owners are well catered for. Surfside Café has earned a reputation for being particularly dog-friendly, making it a popular stop for coffee, breakfast or lunch after a stroll along the coast. Visitors can also enjoy refreshments at Langland Brasserie, which now welcomes dogs in its bar area, giving owners even more options to relax and enjoy the bay without leaving their pets behind.

Convenient Facilities and Seasonal Savings

The beach benefits from excellent facilities including nearby parking, public toilets, cafés and restaurants, making it easy to spend a full day by the sea. Visitors planning an autumn or winter visit should note that parking charges are typically dropped from the beginning of November, making the quieter months an even more attractive time to explore Langland Bay and the wider Gower coastline. The Beach

Langland is a sandy beach that is fringed by huts, a popular destination for both visitors and locals all year round. The beach is only a 15-20 minute walk from the centre of Mumbles and offers a good range of facilities. When large swells are running up the Bristol Channel, breaks such as Crab Island, The Sand Bar, Middle Reef and Lefts start to work, attracting surfers from far and wide. If you are lucky, you may observe a surfing competition, these are often held here when conditions prevail.

There is a beach shop situated on the promenade. There are two car parks behind the beach, both Pay & Display. Toilet Facilities in the main car park. The promenade follows the coastline, to Caswell Bay (2.5km) to the West and Limeslade (2.5km) to the East. The path is generally good in most places, but there are some relatively steep inclines and steps that may not suit the less able. There are all-weather tennis courts which are maintained and administered by the City Council.
