The event starts close to high tide, the faster craft usually take under 20 minutes to complete the 1 mile race.

The annual Mumbles Raft race is a major event for Mumbles, drawing vast crowds that line the promenade between the start at Norton and the finish at Knab Rock. The race, which raises money for the RNLI is fun filled with a clear emphassis on having a good time.
