Set on the beautiful North Gower, Blaen Cedi Farm is surrounded by fields and has estuary views of the Llanrhidian Marshes; it is approached via a secluded lane overhung with trees.

The farmhouse and outbuildings are 300 years old and, although the majority of the land was sold many years ago, the house and cottages are set in three acres of garden.

There is an abundance of wildlife and a small stream (the Cedi) flows nearby. Each cottage has a small private patio area with garden furniture and use of a large hot tub.

These cottages in Wales have been renovated to a high standard. Each has central heating, full size cooker and fridge, microwave and all the equipment you would expect in 4 star accommodation.

There are washing machines and dryers available in the adjoining utility room.

The cottages have been lovingly restored with particular attention to décor and furnishings. All linen and towels are supplied and guests will be welcomed with fresh flowers and the little extras which make this holiday special.

The Complete holiday experience - Relaxing Cottages In Wales

We believe that holidays should be special in this time of stress and pressure and our aim is to make your holiday relaxing and unique. Our visitor books are full of comments on the peace and tranquillity of our small holiday retreat. Just the break for the busy person.

Each cottage is well equipped with everything needed for a fantastic holiday. They have full size cookers and good quality equipment including microwaves, TV and video, cassette/CD players and many extras. Hot water and heating are available on demand and each cottage has additional heating in the form of feature electric log fires.

All the cottages have additional sleeping facilities, each has a good quality bed settee, for the extra child and guest, and if these are required we will provide all bedding needed.

There is no extra charge for this, or indeed any of the facilities (except the bicycles) as we believe there should be no hidden charges and no searching for coins for meters! Linen and towels are provided. Heating electricity and gas, plus shared use of washing machines and dryers are all included in the price.
We offer free use of the spacious hot tub and the surrounding deck and garden equipment for all our guests and the opportunity to hire bicycles and helmets at a very reasonable rate, in order for our guests to enjoy the many cycle tracks in the vicinity. We are sorry, but we are unable to accept pets.

Blaen Cedi Farm - cottages in Wales are convenient for the beautiful bays and numerous golf courses in the unspoilt countryside of Gower and are also within easy travelling distance of the Pembrokeshire Coastline and National Botanical Gardens.

Up until the end of the 19th century, Penclawdd was a flourishing sea port, with several coal mines, and tinplate, copper and brass works. It was a bustling commercial centre for much of North Gower. There was a time, almost within living memory, when it had a railway station, a forge, twenty grocers, three butchers, three drapers and four fish and chip shops; for happy hours, there were eleven pubs and a cinema, and for holy hours, three chapels and a church.

But above all else, Penclawdd was synonymous with cockles and cockling, and this is the only one of the old industries to survive. The famous low-tide cockle beds on the Burry Estuary sands have always produced a good quality harvest. During the Industrial Revolution, women whose husbands were unfit for work in the coalmines turned to cockle gathering as a lifeline, and right up to the 1970s, women were the main gatherers. Working with donkeys, hand rakes and riddles (coarse sieves), the women were tough and resilient, famed for their ability to withstand all weather conditions on the estuary.
